[ He's about to protest, worry seeping into the words that are never said (whoa!!), because of course he's stuck with this idiot who obviously hasn't read anything. But suddenly the boy's standing up with the beginning of a sentence that more or less alerts Green to what Red's about to do--
Ah. Well. Now it's a "supposed to do", considering he's now on the floor and not moving - and that sure is an increasing number of furballs he doesn't want in his life. So he picks up where the other couldn't finish, signaling Arcanine with a quiet "go". It starts off as a low growl, the pokemon's body tensing as if gearing up for an attack, before it shifts to a full-blown bark, all teeth and intimidation. Dominance, like the predator he'd normally be when he's not asking for hearty pets from the average recruit.
Luckily, that's all it's needed for the haisuna to scurry away without so much a glance in Arcanine's direction; maybe a couple of the braver ones look back, but the concept of bravery's quickly lost when they jump up and run even faster. There's a small sigh - a mix of relief and resignation, for getting the job done but also effectively being left alone with someone who runs into trouble without really thinking about it.
Sounds like someone else he knows.
At least the walk back to camp isn't very far - it's easy when all he has to do is load Red up on Arcanine's back with the smallest amount of grace possible, then set him back on the floor once they reach the clearing.
Green wastes no time nudging the other to full consciousness. ] Hey, idiot. Wake up.
