[She commands Ringo to lower himself so she can get on his back. If Green's going to bound across the Neheda with Arcanine, she'll never get there walking.
[ He wastes no time jumping on Arcanine's back (it probably helps that the beast lowered his body). He holds back any comments regarding how ... uncomfortable she looks, though. For now.
Maybe when it gets funnier. ]
We'll follow. [ He still has no idea how to get around this ship. ]
[Horses? Sure, no problem. Side saddle and all. Giant cats? Nah, not quite the same.]
Lead on, Ringo.
[He's not exactly used to her weight on his back either, but he compensates by moving a fairly decent pace. The number of people in the ship don't lend itself to running and leaping.
A good 20 minutes passes before they arrive to the crime scene.]
[ Decent pace indeed - luckily Arcanine's used to being Green's ride, so he manages to keep up without much of a problem. ]
Hm. [ He's... not exactly familiar with the sight of blood being everywhere like this; but somehow he manages to keep his cool. With a small furrow of his eyebrows, anyway. ]
Yeah, shouldn't there be something keeping people out? [ That's what he normally sees, at least. He slides off Arcanine, taking a couple of steps forward out of curiosity.
That's not something for him to question though, he figures. ]
C'mon. [ He motions his partner over. ] Think you can pick up a scent? [ It's not something they've done before, but ... ]
[ Arcanine looks a little lost at first, blinking at the blood around the area. He eventually follows suit, moving over to a splatter not too far from Ringo to gently sniff. ]
Try and follow it. [ He urges, much more gently than he is usually. Green is dealing with his team member after all, doing something they normally aren't... used to. Luckily enough, it's apparently not too challenge - soon enough, the beast moves away from the scene of the crime to start moving in a direction.
A quick glance over to his (human) partner. ] Ready?
[ Uh oh. Green sees Ringo move before hearing about the problem, and immediately, his eyes narrow. ] What--
How? [ Are there different scents? If that were the case, both beasts should have been much warier of starting in the first place. It doesn't make sense. ]
Arcanine, stop. [ He at least calls, after a moment or two, and the beast follows suit-- though confusions written on the poor dog's face as well. ]
[Ringo raises his head, eyes narrowed. In a few long strides, he catches up to Arcanine.
Bahari are intelligent. They are born hunters, made to maul. He, too, knows something is wrong as soon as the scent is recognized once more. His growl is low and guttural.]
I don't know, it's more than one? Or it's running around marking its territory.
[ Having a bahari stride up to him is certainly enough to tip off the beast that there's something wrong, immediately pouncing over to Ringo's original location to sniff out the scent as well.
His ears perk up, and he lowers his posture -- the growl mixes in with the bahari's. ] Well, looks like it's the same scent, so I'm guessing territory.
What are the chances that more than one -- thing has the exact same scent?
[ She's got a point, as much as Green dislikes admitting it. His eyes trail over to Arcanine who seems just as on edge as he is; the first thought he has is that whatever this thing is, it's fast. If there's only one trail scent it probably means there's only one culprit, right?
Which means the thing is really fast. ]
Let's pick a trail. [ He eventually decides after another moment of thinking. ] Whatever this thing is, it has to have gone somewhere by the end of it all.
[ Hanna only gets a small smirk in return, complete with a shrug.
Green's eyes follow Ringo as he begins on the trail, whistling for Arcanine to join him. It takes him a moment - the pokemon takes a second glance over at the bahari before picking up the same trail, steadily moving away from the initial scene.
There's another glance over to Hanna, and Green starts following them. ]
[ There's multiple moments during their trail hunting that Arcanine begins to follow a different trail, pause, then look up to realize that he's being slowly separated from the bahari. ] Tell me about it.
[ He comments as he watches the canine adjust his course for what seems to be the tenth time. ] Got any theories? [ Because following this thing without any kind of words spoken are bound to get awkward, especially between two strangers. ]
[Hanna notices the awkward silence, but honestly, she doesn't care: there's something or someone killing recruits and that, she's pretty sure, is more important than small talk.]
I don't know. Maybe it's cracked out and running everywhere, or it's several that are smart enough to follow and split and meet again. [She frowns.] I'm not familiar enough with animals, let alone animals from other planets. You got anything we can work with?
It could be a herd. [ That's actually an interesting theory, eyes still on the two beasts ahead of them as he muses out loud. ]
Judging from their trails, they could also be searching for something specific on the ship. Or it might be their instinct to find and kill specific traits.
But that also might mean there's someone who set them loose here on purpose, unless there's a reason for a bunch of them to climb on to a space ship somehow.
[ That's comforting. ] Hm. [ His eyes follow the two animals with their snout close to the floor, quickly growing quiet in thought. ]
